Abstract

to General Relativity, is used to construct initial data for several non-rotating axisymmetric spacetimes at a moment of time symmetry. In particular, axisymmetric Brill wave and black hole initial data are presented, following on from the work of Dubal. Regge initial data for a combined black hole plus radiation spacetime is also constructed, and comparison of the Regge results with recent work by Bernstein is encouraging.}
